“If Easter and Pentecost fall on the same day”

JOHN 20:22 “And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
Before Pentecost, we still celebrate the festival of Ascension. Jesus says: “If I do not go, the Comforter (The Holy Spirit) cannot come to you.” Jesus must work from a new place, from the right hand of the Father. That is where our hearts must be, there our spirit must be directed. We must let go of the earthly Jesus and now focus on the heavenly, in faith that He has gone out for us and prepared a place for us with the Father. Here on earth, He gives us from the Father the Spirit we need to walk in His footsteps.
When I think again of the expression: “If Easter and Pentecost fall on the same day,” which we use to indicate something impossible, I now think of the words: With God nothing is impossible. It is even possible that ordinary people like most of us in 2024, with their strengths and weaknesses, will become inspired again, full of fire and full of forgiving love, that we will again find words to testify about all the beautiful and good things that God gave us by Jesus., the proverb is here and now, with God all things are possible. We are going to celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit again with ascension and Pentecost, but we don’t even have to wait that long. Today, here and now, you and me. He breathed his breath over us. So we can get to work.
PRAYER: Dear Father, we thank You for the gifts of Ascension and Pentecost. May our hearts and minds be focused on the heavenly reality of Your kingdom, while we let go of the earthly. Help us to receive the enthusiasm and the fire of the Holy Spirit in our hearts so that we can once again preach the message of love and peace with surrender. Give us the strength to walk in your footsteps and follow your will. In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN.
