BLOG SERIES: LETTERS TO MY TEENAGE KIDS! FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2024
Dear Children,
Today I want to write about something that seems simple but can make a big difference in the world: COURTESY. Courtesy, or good manners, is not just about the rules we follow to be polite, it’s a way to show respect and kindness to others. It means treating people with compassion and understanding, no matter who they are or where they come from.

Courtesy starts with small things, like saying “please” and “thank you,” or holding the door open for someone. When you do these things, you show that you care about the people around you. These small actions help create an atmosphere of kindness and respect, making everyone feel better. It’s a way to acknowledge the value and dignity of every person you encounter.

Courtesy also helps build better relationships. When you treat others politely, they are more likely to return the favor. It creates a positive environment where people feel comfortable and can communicate better. It’s much easier to solve problems and build good friendships when everyone treats each other with respect.
Courtesy is important not only in your personal life but also in the professional world. Good manners make you look professional and build trust with colleagues and clients. It opens doors to opportunities and shows that you are a reliable and respectful person.

Courtesy also helps in difficult times. When there is conflict, courtesy and respect can quickly calm the situation. By listening to others, speaking kindly, and avoiding hurtful language or gestures, you can help reduce tension and find solutions that work for everyone.
My wish for you is that you always remain courteous and respectful towards others. The way you treat people has a big impact on the world around you. If we are all just a little more courteous, we can build a society based on kindness and respect.
With love,
Dad
