MONDAY 25/11/2024 DAY 1: THE GENEALOGY OF GRACE

“This is the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”  MATTHEW 1 VERSE 1

As Advent begins, Matthew opens with the genealogy of Jesus, linking Him to David and Abraham. In this seemingly mundane list of names lies a profound truth: God’s faithfulness spans generations. Each name reflects a story of grace, brokenness, and redemption, ultimately leading to the Messiah’s arrival.

Advent reminds us that God’s plan is bigger than our moments of despair or failure. Jesus’ genealogy includes kings and outcasts, saints and sinners. This is grace in action—God working through imperfect people to fulfil His perfect promise.

Consider the legacy you are part of. Even in dark times, God weaves your story into His greater plan. Advent invites us to trust that our stories find redemption and purpose in Jesus’ kingdom.

PRAYER: Faithful Father, thank You for Your grace that spans generations. Help me trust in Your plan, even when I cannot see the bigger picture. Prepare my heart during Advent and remind me that I am part of Your story. Use my life to reflect Your redeeming love. AMEN
