FRIDAY 12 APRIL 2024

EASTER AND PENTECOST IN ONE DAY

In Luke 4:22, we see the reaction of the believers in Nazareth to Jesus’ preaching and the power of the Holy Spirit upon Him. They acknowledge that Jesus’ words are full of power and light, but they stumble upon the question: “Is this not the son of Joseph?” This question indicates a lack of faith in Jesus’ divine origin and identity.

Jesus’ appearance in Nazareth shows us that even though He performed miracles and carried the power of the Holy Spirit, His people did not recognize Him. This reminds us that faith is not only based on visible signs and miracles, but it requires a deeper, spiritual conviction.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we thank You for the miraculous events of Easter and Pentecost and the light that You bring through Jesus. Help us not only to rely on outward signs but to have a deeper faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior and Lord. May we experience the power of the Holy Spirit to convince our hearts and change our lives. AMEN
